Michael Zhang
Michael Zhang joined Shandong Reachtop Steel Structure Co., Ltd. in 2017 and was appointed General Manager in 2023. He now oversees the company’s overall operations, including international business, manufacturing coordination, quality management and long-term development.
Born in Shandong, China, in 1990, Michael earned a master’s degree in Transportation Engineering from Dalian University of Technology. After graduation, he joined ReachTop and began working directly with international buyers on container house and modular building projects.
His approachable manner, structured thinking and strong English communication skills helped him build trust across different markets. During his first year with the company, he secured an overseas order valued at more than RMB 5 million.
Since becoming General Manager, Michael has led ReachTop’s transition from a traditional manufacturing and export business toward a more structured and internationally oriented organization. His work has focused on strengthening production consistency, technical coordination, quality control, customer communication and global market development.
His objective is not simply to sell more container houses, but to provide efficient, comfortable and cost-effective spaces for practical use—whether for a large project camp, a temporary office, a commercial facility or a private living space.
As the head of a growing manufacturing company, Michael remains closely involved in selected customer projects and continues to handle part of the company’s international business personally. Working directly with buyers, engineers and production teams helps him maintain a clear understanding of changing market expectations and the practical challenges that arise between design, manufacturing, delivery and local installation.
Although Michael generally keeps a low public profile, he makes an exception for this website. To help more people understand China’s container house industry and ReachTop, he publishes articles here under his own name. Some are written by Michael directly, while others are prepared by ReachTop’s marketing team, but all are reviewed and approved by him before publication.

No sensible factory should complete a container house and then dismantle the walls to inspect the concealed work. The correct approach is to inspect and record each critical stage while the components are still visible. ReachTop creates a production record for every order. Photos and videos are taken at key manufacturing stages, especially before electrical…
China’s futuristic take on the prefab tiny home, explained from the product, manufacturing and project-delivery side. It is difficult to see a space capsule house for the first time without stopping to look. It does not resemble an ordinary portable building, nor does it try to pass as a scaled-down traditional home. Its curved shell,…
Most buyers begin with a photograph. That is often where the wrong decision begins. A container house designed for a mining camp may be a poor starting point for a private backyard home. A space capsule may attract attention at a resort but destroy the budget of a temporary workforce project. A system that maximizes…
An Australian dealer we will call David recently bought ten expandable houses from a new supplier. The quotation was slightly higher than the price of a standard ReachTop unit, but the supplier made an unusually simple promise: the houses were “fully Australian standard,” Class 1a would not be a problem, and a local engineer could certify…
Installing an expandable container house is straightforward and surprisingly satisfying. A folded transport unit becomes a complete building through a short and repeatable sequence, and the standard installation does not require a specialist team. Prepare several physically capable adults, normally a crew of four, together with suitable lifting equipment. The complete process has five main…
The term capsule house in this guide refers to Apple Cabin houses, Space Capsule houses and other prefabricated buildings customized with a capsule-shaped exterior. It does not refer to capsule hotel sleeping pods. Five exterior materials are commonly offered for this type of prefabricated house: Embossed metal insulated panels Coated galvanized steel Aluminum composite panels…
