General Manager of ReachTop Container House

Michael Zhang

Michael Zhang joined Shandong Reachtop Steel Structure Co., Ltd. in 2017 and was appointed General Manager in 2023. He now oversees the company’s overall operations, including international business, manufacturing coordination, quality management and long-term development.

Born in Shandong, China, in 1990, Michael earned a master’s degree in Transportation Engineering from Dalian University of Technology. After graduation, he joined ReachTop and began working directly with international buyers on container house and modular building projects.

His approachable manner, structured thinking and strong English communication skills helped him build trust across different markets. During his first year with the company, he secured an overseas order valued at more than RMB 5 million.

Since becoming General Manager, Michael has led ReachTop’s transition from a traditional manufacturing and export business toward a more structured and internationally oriented organization. His work has focused on strengthening production consistency, technical coordination, quality control, customer communication and global market development.

His objective is not simply to sell more container houses, but to provide efficient, comfortable and cost-effective spaces for practical use—whether for a large project camp, a temporary office, a commercial facility or a private living space.

As the head of a growing manufacturing company, Michael remains closely involved in selected customer projects and continues to handle part of the company’s international business personally. Working directly with buyers, engineers and production teams helps him maintain a clear understanding of changing market expectations and the practical challenges that arise between design, manufacturing, delivery and local installation.

Although Michael generally keeps a low public profile, he makes an exception for this website. To help more people understand China’s container house industry and ReachTop, he publishes articles here under his own name. Some are written by Michael directly, while others are prepared by ReachTop’s marketing team, but all are reviewed and approved by him before publication.

The insulation performance of a prefab container house is not determined simply by whether the wall panel contains EPS, rock wool or polyurethane. It depends on the complete building envelope—including the walls, steel structure, roof, floor, doors, windows, panel joints and installation quality. A supplier may use a good insulation material and still produce a…

ReachTop and our customer have recently reached an important milestone: the structural design for an expandable house project was certified against NCC 2022 and relevant Australian standards. The long days and late nights spent reviewing drawings, updating documents and coordinating between teams were not wasted. The Appearance Is Similar. Almost Everything Else Has Changed. From…

A modular site office should not begin with one question: “How many containers do we need?” The more useful starting point is how the office will be used. How many people will work there? Which departments need separate rooms? Will the building include meeting rooms, toilets, storage areas or management suites? Does the project need…

Two-story layouts are common when a project uses more than a dozen detachable container house units and needs to accommodate more people without occupying too much land. Detachable units can also be stacked up to three stories, provided that the frame, connections, foundation and overall design are suitable for the project. When we refer to…

Installing a detachable container house is generally much easier than constructing a conventional building. Most components are manufactured and prepared in the factory, so the work on site is mainly mechanical assembly. For a small order, a crew with basic practical experience can usually understand the process after watching the installation video and reviewing the…
